Recently the Spouse returned from Asia, and brought us candy. The flavors are decidedly Asian (litchee, darjeeling, etc.) and the package design is good to look at. I had to use my macro setting to photograph each one.
Notice: "Popular Leisure Food."
This last one had the most interesting flavor. I've read about Durian fruit but never seen it; I know it smells awful but tastes fine. I grabbed a pen before I popped it in my mouth so I could write my flavor impressions. Sure enough, the initial hit was icky and uncannily familiar. "Gas station bathroom," I wrote. Then came "coconut," followed by "pineapple," then "all-day-meeting scalloped potatoes and ham." Almost a full meal in a half-inch candy.

I love the packaging and the Engrish that often comes with it.
Durian smells like sulphur and looks like a slimy, stringy custard. Those two things together were enough to make me stay away from it.
"all day meeting scalloped potatoes and ham" is even funnier than the gas station bathroom. Beautiful packaging.
The translation to English is too funny. Love your description, I agree with Brooke. :)
Kind of along the line of your bag's popular snack line- I have a formal suit garment of my son's that has an inner tag on it- not sure where it was made but it was purchased in Kazakhstan- it says:
"LEISURE ABSOLUTELY SHOWS HEROS CHARACTERISTIC."
Absolutely- in case you missed that: It ABSOLUTELY shows heros characteristic. Heros one.
Awesome. Love your impressions of the durian candy--all day meeting scalloped potatoes and ham... hahahaha! Just reading that popped that smell into my head.
Love the foreign candy wrappers. They're beautiful!
