Ground and sawn

This post title was somewhat of a stream-of-consciousness thing, because when school started last September, I felt like a whole human being and when it ended last Friday, I felt ground into tiny bits.

So, since a blob of mushed muscle and gristle has very little to say, I'll let others speak. First, the News Media:

Ohio Teen Sorry he Led 50-Mile Chase in Dump Truck
Associated Press 5/28/11

Disabled Rider Sues Disneyland after Being Stuck on 'Small World'
Associated Press 2/9/11

The Spouse enjoyed that last one. He's always said that if he were the litigious type, he would sue Disneyland for creating that ride in the first place. Speaking of the spouse, here are a couple quotes from him. Unfortunately, they reveal a little something about his wife...but you all love me so I know you'll understand.

Me: "Issue X is so upsetting to me. Blah, blah, talk, (discussing Issue X)"
Spouse: "I'm not going to say anything because I don't want you to get mad."

A week later, a similar conversation occurs, in which I present all aspects of Different Issue XIVM in one single, breathless run-on sentence.
Spouse: "Nothing is the matter here. You are just panicking."

I tell you, the Spouse knows how to handle women. Now let's move on to the younger men in the family.

J: "I dread school!"

Nice vocabulary, though.

This next one is in that wonderful tradition of two people dueling (samurai warriors, old west gunslingers, John Paul Jones) who feel the need to trade witticisms with their foe.

R: "I AM A SKILLED SWORD-FIGHTER, DAGGER-THRUSTER, AND TAKE-PAINER!"

Ah. And finally, my favorite. I need to set the scene. We should be getting in the car for meeting and I'm in my room, fretting over my appearance.

J: "Mom, you look fine. You're the best woman I've ever sawn."
